• Privacy Policy

    Effective: February 23rd, 2016

    1. Introduction

    LetterMe is a fun and personal messaging experience where you can make your words and emojis

    your own. You can easily communicate as yourself using your own handwritten font and hand-drawn

    emojis.

    When you use any existing or future LetterMe products and services (the “Services”) you will inevitably

    share some information with us. We understand that this can affect your privacy and we want you to be comfortable when you use the Services. So we want to be clear about the information we collect, how we

    use it, with whom we share it, and the choices we give you to control, access, and update your information.

    We’ve tried very hard to create a privacy policy that is clear and easy to understand. However, if you still have questions about anything in this Privacy Policy, please email us at privacy@letterme.com.

    2. Information Collected From You

    In order to create your LetterMe account, you will be required to provide us with your email

    address, user name and password. You may, but are not required to, provide us with your name

    and a telephone number. If you choose to use the Services and make an in-app purchase of a

    product or service we offer, you may be required to provide additional information, such as your

    credit or debit card number and billing address.

    3. Additional Collected Information

    Using various technologies, such as cookies, LetterMe may also collect non-personal

    information as part of the Services. This will typically include browser type, IP address, mobile

    device used, mobile device identifier(s), and aggregate interests of individuals.  We have the

    right, but not the obligation, to store any messages that pass through our Services as well as other

    message information.

    4. Use and Disclosure of Your Information

    We may use non-personal information collected to:

    • help us develop, improve, deliver and operate the Services;
    • customize the Services and advertising to your preferences;
    • keep you posted on product and services announcements, important notices regarding terms, policies, and conditions;
    • detect and block security breaches and to provide you with a safe online environment;
    • support internal functions such as auditing, data analysis, research, and quality management; and
    • to develop and deliver new products and services and to improve our Services and advertising.

    We may also use the non-personal information we gather to tailor the Services and

    advertisements to your personal interests and/or demographics (e.g., behavioral, interest-based or

    geographic targeted advertising). In addition, LetterMe may provide non-personal information in

    the form of aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, online traffic patterns, and related

    information to reputable third parties for similar purposes.

    We may disclose personal information (i.e. information that specifically identifies an individual

    such as name, address, telephone number or email address) you provide via the Services to third

    parties only as follows:

    • to contractors we use to support our business, in which case we will require such third parties to agree to treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and use it for the same purposes;
    • in the event of a sale, merger, liquidation, dissolution, reorganization, assignment or other transfer of LetterMe or the business or the Services to which the information relates, in which case we will require any such buyer to agree to treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and use it for the same purposes; or
    • to respond to law enforcement requests or where required by applicable laws, court orders, or government regulations; and in situations involving harassment ("cyber bullying") or threats to the physical safety of any person.

    Information collected and used by our advertisers is outside of our control. If you have any

    questions about a banner advertisement, you should contact the responsible advertiser directly.

    Of course, if you do not access an advertisement (tapping on an ad), no information is accessed

    or disclosed to the advertiser.

    5. Your Responsibility Online

    You should remain aware that any information you share online or via text message can be

    accessed by others. When you send a message or other content through the Services, information

    about you, such as your phone number, may be visible to other users.  We are not responsible for

    the actions of those who obtain your information in this manner and cannot guarantee your

    online safety or security.  You should be aware that submitting any information to LetterMe

    and/or using the Services is done at your own risk.

    6. Managing Your Privacy

    We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

    • You may also send us an e-mail message at privacy@letterme.com, to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. Should you elect to have your information deleted, we will also delete your user account. However, copies of your information may remain in back up storage for some time after your deletion. We may also retain certain information to protect against identity theft or misconduct.

    handling of your personal information and any communication through the Service will be

    governed by the laws of the United States and any applicable state laws.

    8. Changes to the Privacy Policy

    We may amend, change or supplement this Privacy Policy from time to time in our sole

    discretion. You should frequently check this page for any changes to this Privacy Policy. Your

    continued use of the Services after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your

    acceptance of such change.

    We will not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.  We

    encourage parents to talk to their children about their use of the Internet and mobile applications

    and services, and the information they disclose online.  If we become aware that a child under
